In Manor Lords, you can build your city without a grid. You have full freedom to place and rotate buildings. The building mechanics are inspired by real medieval towns, where trade routes and landscapes shaped the development.
Start building from a central marketplace. Create residential, commercial, and industrial districts based on the land. Set up farms where the soil is fertile, hunting grounds where animals are plentiful, and find resource deposits and forests for materials.
Assign housing areas and watch your residents build homes based on the historical burgage plot system. Larger homes can have extensions to produce extra resources. Homeowners don’t just pay taxes; they also grow vegetables, raise chickens, and supply essential needs.

Manor Lords has a variety of goods from the era. Materials need to be transported and processed into products. Balance the needs of your people with producing luxury items, trade goods, or arms and armor.

Unchecked expansion affects the environment. Deer will migrate away, soil fertility will drop without crop rotation, and cutting too many trees will cause deforestation.
