Mercenaries Lament: Requiem of the Silver Wolf is a tactical RPG set in a fantasys world. The game focuses on strategic battle where positionings your characters matter a lot. You can move characters around, and their position—front, back, or side—can change how battles play out. You also have a lot of freedom to grow your character by earning skill point in battle which you can use to improve skill and change class. The characters are beautifully designed by artist Sakura Mochi.
When the heroine, Amalie, is in your party, you can fill a special gauge to store BP (Battle Points). You can store up to 9 BP, and once you use them, characters enter a powerful mode called “Advent Soul.” In this mode, they can perform unique attacks called “Advent attacks” with other allies, and use powerful skills known as “Soul Exceed” to turn the battle in your favor.
There are also mysterious “Orbs” hidden throughout the game that you can collect and equip to your characters. These Orbs have special powers and collecting all 13 will unlock something important in the game. The Orb can be found in various way like progressing through the story or defeating certain enemie. The story follows Johann the captain of the Silver Wolf Mercenary Company who narrowly escapes death after a visit from the Grim Reaper. The Reaper tells him his fate is sealed in 100 days. Johann then meets Amalie, a young woman with the power to heal the deadly disease turning people into zombies. They set out together to help those infected, but Johann soon realizes he might have to face his own mortality along the way.
