The game is set during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty a time when Japanese pirates were causing trouble on the southeastern coasts. General Qi Jiguang led the fight against them, but as his army moved north, the leftover pirates regrouped with other sea raiders from Fuling Island. They were plannings a comeback. As a Qi army soldier, your boat wrecks during a patrol, and you end up alone on Ryukyu Island. With just your sword you dive into the island to uncover and stop the pirates secret plans.
The games art is inspired by traditional Chinese ink and wash paintings. From the smallest grass to the tallest mountains on Fuling Island, everything is beautifully painted. The characters also look like they came out of ancient Chinese art making the game visually stunning. The combat system tests your reflexes and warrior skills with three main attack actions stab cleave, and sweep. You need to balance attacking and defending, reading the enemy’s moves to counter them.
