Unknown Tapes is a survival horror game told in a “found footage” style. Inspired by Dino Crisis and Outlast, it’s set in a modern world overrun by dinosaurs. You need to hide stay quiet and think smart to survive. The game, which lasts 2-3 hours, mostly takes place at night in both open and tight spaces. Beware—large dinosaurs can destroy buildings, so nowhere is truly safe.
Using Unreal Engine 5 and photogrammetry, we’ve created a realistic urban environment filled with dinosaurs. The game also uses real time voice detection so if you talk or shout in real life, dinosaurs will hear and react. Motion tracking adds to the realism making it feel like you’re holding a real camera.
